What We Do

A place for young women aging out of foster care, homeless, and exploited youth to come heal, grow, and learn how to succeed. 

A transition to Success

New Destiny Pathways is a 501c3 organization that provides affordable and supportive housing to young women transitioning out of the foster care system.

Provide safe, affordable, youth-centered housing

Our goal is to meet the immediate, basic and ongoing needs of participants, making sure that youth have access to a range of internal and external services, resources and supports to reach optimal health. We Support resident youth and NDP alumni with relationships and resources to sustain their independence and forward trajectory. NDP Ensures youth have access to a wide range of experiences and resources to increase Life Skills Training. We also Offer alumni supportive services to ensure youth maintenance skills learned in our program  and remain stabilized as they navigate independence. NDP Maintains affordable rent at $400 per month and continually secure gap funding when youth do not have an income stream.

Mentoring

NDP partners with individuals and organizations in the community to  help give guidance, influence and support to our Destiny girls. While developing positive relationships that can help them to grow, gain confidence and build inner strength.  We ask that mentors adhere to a background check and be willing to commit to a minimum of 1 year; meeting 2-3 times/month and communicate weekly by phone or text.

Life Skills

Housing Dean/CM provides life skills teaching, budgeting , role modeling, training on use of public transportation, keeping a schedule, enrollment/attendance to work, school, doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping etc.  NDP uses donor funding to provide workshops to ensure mental health care (group and individual therapy, art therapy, healthy relationship education) , career readiness (resume building, help with filling out applications,  dressing for success).  NDP utilizes volunteers to help teach life skills such as cooking, cleaning, gardening etc.

Case Management

NDP provides intensive case management support to youth aging out of foster care who otherwise could not safely and affordably live on their own.  NDP supports the emotional and physical safety needs of youth through weekly meetings with Resident Dean/Case manager to assess emotional mindset/needs, and make referrals to mental health professionals as needed. The youth and Housing Dean Create goal plans weekly, reviewing them at House Meetings and mid-week  case management sessions. Youth can choose which NDP Case Management Services they would like to engage with. NDP  partners with the  foster care case managers and other agencies to build wraparound services for the youth.

Young women aging out of the foster care system or residential services, ages 17-21. Approved for Independent Living.

  If you are a young women who is ready to take their lives back and aspire to greatness. We are here for you.  Those young women that are willing to partner with the New Destiny Pathways’ staff will gain the skills necessary to be productive citizens in their own lives as well as in the community in which they live.
